Okay, this is a pretty cool diversion that can actually give you some worthwhile information about how well your eyes perceive different color hues.
Click on the link to take the Online Color Challenge. It’s part of X-Rite’s website, so there’s an obvious connection between the test and products you can purchase to improve your color. But hey, they make great products to help photographers get better color, so why not show us how far short we fall in our ability to correctly perceive it? I know I benefit greatly from two fantastic color analysts in our lab who make my images look great.
Feeling bold and courageous? Take the test and post your score in the comments section. I got a 17. So, while I’m not perfect, I still feel pretty good about my ability to arrange the different hues. Maybe I can blame my low score on my laptop screen. ;)
